eat it: montreal edition

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Montreal for a bachelorette where I did diys for this, this and this. The partying was one highlight of the trip, but the other highlight was the food! Thankfully, one of the brides to be is a foodie and got us into all the right places!
Up first was lunch at the Jardin Nelson in old Montreal. We dined outside amongst pretty floras and got drunk off delicious melon and cider sangrias. I had a duck confit salad and a dessert that was to die for! You dip a spoonful of ice cream into the pipping hot custardy pudding and the mix of hot and cold had my taste buds exploding!

That night’s dinner was at the Vertige where bestie and I shared the land and sea menu which included two appetizers, a main and a dessert for only $39. This was a real bang for your buck, everything was very tasty and had me licking the plate clean! This is by far my favourite restaurant in Montreal.

The next day, we had afternoon tea at the Birk‘s! It was like Breakfast at Tiffany’s but Birk’s style! Their scones were by far the best ones I’ve had in Canada but still a long way to go from the ones I had in Oxford, England. Their afternoon tea style was very modern and our teas came in Japanese style tea sets. The sandwiches were scrumptious and I liked how there weren’t too many desserts because I was stuffed by the end.

And last but not least, we had dinner at the Brasserie T where we sat in a glass box and witnessed the Montreal university student riot! It was like a scene straight out of the movies! We shared the charcuterie platter and lobster as appetizers. The lobster was huge and I can’t say no to a charcuterie plate! Dorothy and I shared the Salmon tartar and Merguez which is a type of morrocan spiced sausage. That was one of the best sausages I had ever tasted!

This was definitely a trip my tummy won’t soon forget!

I second that shout out. Every time that boy came around I turned in to a blubbering idiot.
