I was so excited to have discovered this new bar, Triple A Bar that just opened around the corner from my work! I usually end up at the bars near Bay Street but they tend to be a bit frou frou and I have to be in the mood for that. This on the other hand, had a casual atmosphere and could’ve easily been mistaken for a bar on Queen West, my favourite neighbourhood.

Their menu is still quite small, only five items in which I tried the Texas Chilli. I love a good chilli on a cold day and the braised beef was very soft and tender. And did I mention they have $3 tequila shots?

I just felt the effects of the frankenstorm! My power went out before I had a chance to heat up my dinner. You should have seen how fast I ran to the microwave when my lights flickered back on. Now I’m crossing my fingers I can spend my night watching Dexter and Suits with no interruptions, thank you mother nature.

I laid my eyes on these bad boys this week and the rest as they say is history. They’re perfect for fall, studded, low heel and comfy, what more can a girl ask for? Wearing them makes me want to kick some ass.
It’s the weekend for Halloween parties! I need to start shimmying into my superwoman costume. I’m most excited for my homemade cape =)
Have a good weekend!

I recently went to Richmond Station for dinner with a girlfriend, opened by last year’s winner of Top Chef Canada Carl Heinrich and Ryan Donovan of  West Side Beef. I had high expectations for it and it didn’t disappoint.

First up, the bread, I usually don’t even touch the bread at all but after trying it with the soy bean oil, I made sure I ate all the bread. I had the boar ragu which was delicious and just the right portion. My friend had the beef duo, which were two cuts of beef, both very tender and on a bed of potatoes. I loved the sauce on hers. We finished it off with the Station S’more which I highly recommend, the graham cracker was handmade and had fried hazelnuts!

I had gotten rush tickets earlier that day to Sister Act and we went to that after dinner. It was a lovely, fun and light musical that had me bebopping in my seat. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much glitter on stage before, I was almost blinded!

If you know me, you know I love birthday celebrations. And if you know me even better, you know it’s go big or go home. This month was Glow’s editor, Juliette and publisher, Orietta’s birthday. We combined it together and held it at Lil Baci in Leslieville. They were super sweet and accommodating, and allowed me to bring in decorations, centre pieces and a cake!

I only had half an hour to set the decorations up so I needed ones that I can make before hand and easy to assemble at the restaurant. I made two birthday girl glittery banners, fringe streamers and tinsel for the two special ladies’ chairs and simply tied it. The tutorial for the fringe streamers is found here. I laid four pieces of streamers along with eight strands of silver tinsel and tied it at the top. For the other chairs, I made mini tassels and strung them together, the tutorial can be found here. I had also been dying to make a cake topper! I used wire and card stock to put together a simple bunting one for easy assembly at the restaurant.

I had their pizza of the day for lunch, pork belly and mushroom pizza with an arugula side salad. It was very satisfying and just the right portion!
